The Green Bay Packers beat the Dallas Cowboys 23-13 Sunday night, handing Dallas a second loss in three games and leaving the Cowboys at 2-4 while Green Bay improved to 4-2. A scoreless first half set the tone, and Green Bay’s defense limited Dallas’ offense the rest of the way despite a trio of controversial roughing-the-passer flags that briefly threatened to shift momentum.

Defense and missed opportunities defined the game

Green Bay’s defensive performance was the deciding factor. The Packers repeatedly stymied Dallas drives after the teams left the field tied at halftime, turning pressure and coverage into points while keeping the Cowboys out of rhythm. The game continued an odd trend: Green Bay has not lost to Dallas since 2016, with the Packers handing the Cowboys a 23-13 defeat on Sunday night.

Dallas was unable to recover from that scoreless first half and ultimately fell short by 10 points. The loss dropped the Cowboys’ mark to 2-4 and extended questions about the offense’s ability to sustain drives and punch through in critical moments.

Offensive criticism and reaction

Media reaction after the game was sharp. Yardbarker described Dallas’ outing at Lambeau Field as “ugly” and characterized the offense as stalled, adding that Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s postgame comments “didn’t help the cause.” Those critiques reflect mounting scrutiny around Dallas’ attack following a run of uneven results.

Packers' receivers step up amid offseason doubts

Green Bay’s win also highlighted a receiving tandem: Matthew Golden has 30 receptions for 501 yards and three touchdowns this season, and he and Christian Watson combined to drop three touchdown passes that would have made the final score far more lopsided.

Their production has quieted some offseason skepticism about Green Bay’s receiving depth after roster moves that altered the group. For now, the Packers are getting enough from Golden and Watson to turn a defensive slugfest into a statement win.

The result leaves Dallas searching for answers on offense while the Packers, buoyed by a bend-but-don’t-break defense and an emerging receiving duo, head into the next stretch with momentum and a 4-2 record to show for it.
