The NFL fined Green Bay Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden $12,537 for unnecessary roughness during the team’s game against the Carolina Panthers. The league announced the fine on Saturday, November 7.
The infraction occurred roughly halfway through the second quarter of Green Bay’s 27-19 victory over Carolina. The league classified it as “striking/kicking/kneeing.”
Golden was not penalized on the play, which involved Panthers defensive back Marco Wilson. An official penalized Wilson for unnecessary roughness, but he was not fined.

Golden caught seven passes for 79 yards and a touchdown in the win, which took the Packers’ record to 5-3.
