Olympiacos reportedly offered David Jones Garcia a two-year, tax-free deal worth around $3 million, hoping his connection with fellow Dominican Jean Montero can help complete the move after he rejected the Greek club last year.
Olympiacos Piraeus are reportedly making another strong push to bring Dominican wing David Jones Garcia to the EuroLeague.
According to NBA reporter Dusty Garza, Jones Garcia and his representatives held a "terrific meeting" with Olympiacos officials, who are believed to have offered him a two-year contract worth approximately $3 million.
The proposal has reportedly been presented as a tax-free agreement, making it a compelling financial option for the 24-year-old as he evaluates whether to continue pursuing an NBA career or move to Europe.
Olympiacos return after previous rejection
This is not the first time Olympiacos have attempted to sign Jones Garcia.
Last summer, the Dominican international reportedly rejected a $2.0 million offer from the Greek powerhouse to remain in the United States and pursue an NBA opportunity.
That decision eventually led to a two-way contract with the San Antonio Spurs.
Jones Garcia averaged 2.9 points, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 rebounds over 11 games during the 2025-26 season.
He produced much bigger numbers in the G League, averaging 25.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists for the Austin Spurs.
He is currently listed as a free agent by San Antonio.
Jean Montero could help Olympiacos recruitment
A potential move to Piraeus would reunite Jones Garcia with fellow Dominican guard Jean Montero.
Olympiacos recently signed Montero to a three-year contract following his successful spell with Valencia Basket.
Montero and Jones Garcia have played together for the Dominican Republic national team, including at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup, where they formed part of the team's perimeter rotation.
Their existing relationship could make the transition to Greece easier for Jones Garcia as Olympiacos attempt to strengthen their backcourt with another athletic scorer.
