Mike Tirico will miss NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcast of the Chicago Bears’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because of a health issue. Noah Eagle will call the game in his place.
Tirico said in a statement released through NBC on Sunday that he expected to return the following Sunday night in Cincinnati, where the Bengals are scheduled to host the Pittsburgh Steelers.
“I look forward to watching tonight and can’t wait to be back with Cris, Melissa and the rest of our SNF team next Sunday night in Cincinnati,” Tirico said.

Eagle will work alongside analyst Cris Collinsworth and sideline reporter Melissa Stark at Soldier Field. The game was set to be Tirico’s 300th NFL broadcast; he has called 299 NFL games in the regular season and playoffs combined and has been NBC’s Sunday night play-by-play announcer since 2022.
Eagle called Notre Dame’s win over Miami on Saturday night in South Bend, Indiana. His previous NFL assignments include the league’s first game in Brazil and playoff games.
